Mumbai: Tamil actor Dhanush has reportedly received a legal notice from Thenandal Films, with the production house demanding ₹20 crore as compensation over alleged delays in the shooting of a film.
According to a Times Now report, Dhanush had signed a film titled ‘Naan Rudran’ with Thenandal Films in 2016. He was expected to not only act in the film, but also direct it.
The production house claims that although it agreed to certain changes in the plan, Dhanush allegedly did not submit the complete screenplay, leading to the project being stalled.
The notice fur
ther states that the delay caused substantial financial losses, prompting the company to seek ₹20 crore to recover its early-stage investments.
Advocate A. Chidambaram, representing the production house, alleged that the film remained incomplete because Dhanush prioritised other projects by allocating his dates elsewhere.
The company has reportedly warned of further legal action if its demands are not met within the stipulated time.
Dhanush has not yet responded to these allegations.
Amid the controversy, Dhanush announced his next project, tentatively titled ‘D55’. The film will be directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, known for directing ‘Amaran’.
Taking to their X handle, Wunderbar Films announced, “#D55 – a grand new beginning @wunderbarfilms is happy to associate with @RTakeStudios for this massive project!
