Puri: A ‘Dharmashala’ (guest house) and parking facility coming up in Odisha’s Puri town have been targeted to be completed before Rath Yatra (car festival).
Secretary (5T) to chief minister VK Pandian took stock of both projects during a visit to the pilgrim town on Saturday.
Pandian first reviewed the progress and heritage corridor work around Jagannath temple in the town and then proceeded to the site of the Shree Setu. Expressing his satisfaction over progress of the bridge work, he directed the officials to complete it by the deadline.
He then visited Baseli Sahi where the Dharmashala is coming up in an area of 10 acre. It has been designed to accommodate 4,000 people at a time.
Pandian also reviewed the progress of the parking facility for cars and buses at Samang. The facility is being built in 43 acre of land. The secretary directed the officials to complete both projects before Rath Yatra for the benefit of the devotees who would turn up in large number.
