Dharmendra Had Said Salman Khan Will Fit ‘Perfectly’ For His Biopic; Know Why

Mumbai: Bollywood veteran Dharmendra’s health condition had led to a wave of anxiety across the industry and among fans over the past few days.

After three days of treatment at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital, the veteran actor was discharged on Wednesday morning.

As Dharmendra recovers at home, let’s take a trip down memory lane when the veteran had shared that he wants Salman Khan to play his role if a biopic is made on him.

In an interview with Bollywood Life in 2015, Dharmendra had said, “Salman Khan. I think he has a lot of characteristics which are very similar to mine. I think he will be able to portray me onscreen perfectly.”

In another interview, during the trailer launch of his film ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’, Dharmendra praised Salman.

“Today, if I call anyone from the industry, everyone will be there because of my family’s goodwill. Salman himself is a very good human being. I love him, he’s a wonderful person. He’s genuine,” the soon-to-be-90 Dharmendra said.

Recalling the first time he saw Salman, Dharmendra had revealed, “Once I was shooting a film near a lake, and that was the first time I saw Salman. He was quite shy then — and even today, he is very shy. While shooting, the camera dropped into the lake and he dived in to take it out. At that time, I thought, ‘He’s quite courageous too’. He is an emotional man. If you aren’t a good person, you are nothing.”

When Dharmendra was hospitalised, Salman was the first celebrity to rush in to meet the ailing actor.
