Bhubaneswar: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan along with wife Mridula Thakur Pradhan took a holy dip at Triveni Sangam while taking part in the ongoing Maha Kumbh at Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.
The senior BJP leader from Odisha also shared pictures from his trip on X. “It is my good fortune to take a holy dip with my family in the confluence of the divine rivers of Maa Ganga, Maa Yamuna and Maa Saraswati. Taking an Amrit Snan in the confluence is an unforgettable experience for me. I wish that Maa Ganga blesses everyone,” he wrote.
The Mahakumbh has been witnessing a surge of pilgrims over weekends despite a deadly stampede on January 29. More than 50 crore people have taken the holy dip in Triveni Sangam since Mahahumbh began on January 13 in Prayagraj. It will conclude on February 26, coinciding with the festival of Maha Shivratri.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and several other BJP leaders have participated. So also, the Ambani clan, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani, Rajya Sabha MP and philanthropist Sudha Murty and celebrities from Bollywood.
