New Delhi: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has been appointed central observer for Karnataka, along with Arun Singh.
Earlier in the day, BS Yediyurappa resigned as Karnataka’s chief minister after weeks of uncertainty. He will continue as caretaker CM till his predecessor is chosen by the BJP.
Following his resignation, BJP leadership went into a huddle in Delhi to find a replacement for the 78-year-old leader.
Rajya Sabha MP and Education minister Pradhan and BJP’s Karnataka in-charge Singh are expected to travel to Karnataka in a day or two. They will convene a legislative party meeting to elect the next chief minister.
According to reports, the next CM should be finalised by the end of this week.
