Bhubaneswar: As southwest monsoon has become fully active across Odisha, several places experienced heavy rainfall with Dhenkanal receiving highest 10 cm in the last 24 hours.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD), in its midday bulletin, said a cyclonic circulation lies over coastal Odisha and its neighbourhood between 3.1 km and 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwards.
It has issued yellow warning for several districts for next 5 days and forecast that heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Nuapada, Balangir and Kalahandi district in next 24 hours. Thunderstorm with lightning is also very likely at one or two places in these places.
In the last 24 hours, light to moderate rainfall activities have been reported from many places in North Coastal Odisha, a few places in south and north interior areas.
