Dhenkanal: Vigilance sleuths on Thursday raided the residence of Dhenkanal Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Basanta Kumar Behera on charges of amassing properties disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The officials of the anti-corruption department conducted simultaneous raids on Behera’s residential quarter at Mochi Sahi area in Cuttack, his flat at Cosmopolis-Dumuduma in Bhubaneswar, parental house at Ranihat in Cuttack, father-in-law’s house at Anikana village in Binjharpur of Jajpur district and office in Dhenkanal district.
According to official sources, simultaneous raids were carried out after the Cuttack Vigilance Division issued a search warrant.
However, the total value of Behera’s movable and immovable assets is yet to be detected, the sources said.
