DIC General Manager Caught Taking Bribe By Odisha Vigilance

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials on Saturday apprehended the General Manager of the District Industries Centre (DIC) in Sonepur for allegedly taking Rs 5,000 bribe to process and approve a loan application.

The accused, identified as Bipin Kumar Dehury, OIS-I, was apprehended by Vigilance sleuths while demanding and taking bribe Rs.5000/- from a complainant to process and approve loan application for sanction of a loan under Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program (PMEGP) in his favour.

The entire bribe money has been recovered from possession of the accused and seized.

Following the successful trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations of Dehury, from Disproportionate Assets angle.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 against the accused and investigation is in progress.
