Did Modi Launch A Veiled Attack On China At Quads Summit, Here’s What He Said…

Delaware: In his opening remarks at the Quad summit in Delaware, Prime Minister Narendra Modi may have launched a veiled attack on China without naming the country.

“We are not against anyone. We all support a rules-based international order, respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity, and peaceful resolution of all issues,” PM Modi said.

He also stated that a free, open, inclusive and prosperous Indo-Pacific was the priority of Quad leaders. The Quad summit is being hosted by President Joe Biden and also attended by Australia’s Anthony Albanese and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
On the sidelines of the summit, Modi held bilateral talks with Biden, Albanese, and Kishida.

‘India in talks to find ways to end Russia-Ukraine conflict’

Earlier, Foreign Secretary of India addressed the press in New York during a briefing on the first day of Modi’s three-day visit to the United States.He had stated that India was involved in a set of ongoing conversations with interlocutors on all sides to find a possible way out for ending the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Quad nations to launch MAITRI

Quad partners have agreed to launch a ‘Maritime Initiative for Training in the Indo-Pacific’ for monitoring and securing their waters and enforce their laws. The initiative also aims to deter “unlawful behavior”. India will host the inaugural MAITRI workshop during its Quad Presidency in 2025.

Quad Ports announced

During the summit, a ‘Quad Ports of the Future Partnership’ has been announced. It will support sustainable and resilient port infrastructure development across the Indo-Pacific region.

For semiconductor supply chain

The Quad leaders also announced the finalization of a Memorandum of Cooperation for the Semiconductor Supply Chains Contingency Network. It will facilitate collaboration in addressing semiconductor supply chain risks.

Quad Cancer Moonshot

The four leaders have launched a Quad Cancer Moonshot in an effort towards reducing the number of cancer deaths in the Indo-Pacific. The initial focus will be on cervical cancer.

Quad-at-Sea Ship Observer Mission

They also announced the first ever “Quad-at-Sea Ship Observer Mission” in 2025. It is likely to improve interoperability and advance maritime safety between the Indian Coast Guard and its US, Japan, and Australian counterparts, reports stated.
