New Delhi: Former Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav has come under a scathing attack from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the government bungalow that he vacated recently.
Danish Iqbal, Bihar BJP’s media in-charge, alleged on Monday that various items such as furniture, AC units, lights, badminton court mat were missing from the house after he left.
“The base of the bed is missing, the AC and lights have been removed, water outlets in the washroom have been taken out. Even the badminton court mat has been taken, fountain lights and sofas removed. It’s clear that when Tejashwi Yadav vacated the house, he took everything with him. This speaks volumes about his mentality,” ANI quoted Danish as saying.
“It’s not that I’m accusing him, it is completely proven. The way Tejashwi Yadav vacated his official residence, he showed how to loot government’s property,” Danish claimed.
The BJP leader added that the hard drive of CCTV cameras installed at the bungalow were also missing.
Union minister Giriraj Singh has demanded an inquiry into the matter.
“A person in a public position should not do such derogatory activities… An inquiry committee should be formed to inquire how much money was spent on Tejashwi Yadav’s bungalow and a case should also be registered,” said Giriraj.
There was good news otherwise for the Yadavs as a Delhi court granted bail to RJD chief and former Union Railway minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, his sons Tejashwi and Tej Pratap in the land-for-jobs money laundering case.
