Bhubaneswar: Was it an accident or she jumped to her death? A Class VIII girl had died after falling from the terrace of a four-storey apartment building at BJB Nagar in the Odisha capital on Sunday afternoon.
While initial reports termed it as an accident, a post on her Instagram handle indicates that she could have committed suicide by jumping off the terrace.
A few hours before her death, she wrote, ‘Bye Bye People’. To a friend, who asked her about her plans, she replied, ‘Hell. May Be, Heaven.”
According to sources, the 14-year-old was last seen on the terrace between 4.30 pm and 5 pm. A security man engaged at the apartment later saw her lying on the ground in a critical condition.
Her family members were reportedly unaware about her posts on Instagram and refused to comment further on the incident.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case of unnatural death and investigating the exact reason behind the death.
The girl, who studied in a private school in the city, was a meritorious student and knew Korean language. But her social media posts told a different story of immense mental stress, media reports said.
