Bhubaneswar: Body of a 21-year-old differently-abled woman has been recovered from a rented accommodation at Damana in Bhubaneswar.
Following a distress call, Chandrasekharpur police broke into the residence and found the young woman dead. Her body was sent for postmortem to Capital Hospital here and later handed over to her family.
According to police sources, the woman was an ITI student from Rayagada district and had been living alone in the rented house for the last one and half years. “Prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide, but we are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause,” said Bhubaneswar DCP Jagmohan Meena.
Meanwhile, the woman’s family lodged a complaint, alleging that she was being harassed by a man which might have drove her to take the extreme step.
