Digital Accident Clock At Bhubaneswar’s AG Square, Flexible Bollards On NH 16 For Improving Road Safety

Bhubaneswar: Plans are afoot to set up a digital accident clock at AG Square in Bhubaneswar to raise public awareness about road accidents and encourage safer driving habits.

The Joint Transport Commissioner has written to the General Manager of Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL), requesting for installing the real-time digital board with latest figures on accidents and fatalities reported across Odisha.

The government has already received a techno-commercial proposal from Addsoft Technologies Limited for  for an outdoor video wall as part of the accident-clock setup. The BSCL has been directed to collaborate closely with the Transport Commissioner on the technical planning and financial coordination required for successful project execution.

Meanwhile, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI)

These bollards are being installed at lane-merge zones, and high-risk accident spots to direct traffic flow, clearly mark lanes, and safeguard pedestrian areas. Unlike the earlier rigid steel bollards, these new flexible ones are highly durable and can bend up to 90 degrees during a collision without breaking or causing significant damage to the vehicle.
