New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Union Minister of Education and Skill Development Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday emphasised the need for making “skill education for livelihood and providing equal opportunities for education including Internet-based learning.”
Addressing the World Bank’s Human Capital Ministerial Conclave on virtual mode, Pradhan said India was committed to minimising loss of life in the aftermath of COVID-19 by introducing DBT and digital platforms.
“Reducing the loss of human capital with the help of digital platforms and improving the quality of life through technology and providing equal educational opportunities for all have been the avowed objective of the country,” said the Education Minister.
He said, “India adopted a multi-pronged strategy during COVID-19 through E-learning platforms, digital libraries, DTH, Web Portals and radio education to impart value education to the students.”
Education through Internet to strengthen the portals of National Digital Education has been among the objectives of the Government, asserted Pradhan.
CoWin, DBT and other digital platforms helped reduce loss of human resources in India, claimed Pradhan at the ministerial-level meeting and thanked the World Bank for approving of the reforms launched in LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) distribution sector to the advantage of eight crore poor gas consumers in the country by removing the subsidies.
