‘Dine-On-Parked-Jets’ A Super Hit In Singapore

Singapore: Airlines are one of the biggest hit businesses in the world. While some are trying ‘flights to nowhere’ to keep the meter running, Singapore Airlines has started selling tickets to have meals inside its grounded A380 jumbos. Surprisingly, all 900 seats for lunch have already been sold for two days within 30 minutes of bookings opening.

The price of a dine-in starts at around Sg$53 or Rs 3,800 for a three-course in economy class.

The airlines, which had to cut thousands of jobs due to the pandemic, has readied two of its A380s into pop-up restaurants.

Following social distancing norms, around half the seats will be left empty.

Customers can also opt for home deliveries of plane meals if they don’t want to come to Changi Airport.

Singapore Airlines has, however, ditched the flight to nowhere plans as it attracted concerns over the environment.
