Jharsuguda: Direct air services from Odisha’s Jharsuguda to Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh began on Saturday with a flight of Star Air taking off from Veer Surendra Sai Airport (VSSA).
The Star Air flight from Hyderabad landed at Jharsuguda airport at 4.08 pm. After the passengers boarded the flight in the airport, it too off for Lucknow at 4.35 pm, said VSSA director Sandeep Kumar Tiwari.
He further said this flight services from Jharsuguda to Lucknow and Raipur started on the day. Regional airline operator Star Air will operate the flights on both routes.
The flights from Jharsuguda to Lucknow will be available for four days in a week on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Similarly, the flights to Raipur will operate on Monday, Wednesday and Sunday every week.
It may be noted that Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on December 30, 2024 had announced that direct flight services from Jharsuguda to Hyderabad, Raipur, Lucknow and Mumbai would be launched on January 1.
