The automobile industry has hit a slump. The total sales of passenger vehicles fell by 14 per cent in a year, according to sales data from SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers). To fill in the gap, car manufacturers and dealers have now resorted to deep discounts on their models.
