Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Monday launched simultaneous searches at seven locations linked to Jayadev Jena, Assistant Block Education Officer (ABEO) of Dharmasala in Jajpur district, on allegations of possessing assets beyond his known sources of income.
Teams led by three additional SP, four DSP, nine inspectors and other supporting staff are conducting the raids on the strength of search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Brahmapur, in Bhubaneswar, Ganjam and Jajpur.
Searches are currently underway at these places:
>> A three-storey building at Patrapada in Bhubaneswar
>> A two-storey building and another structure at P Nuagaon in Ganjam.
>> House of a relative at Burujhari in Ganjam
>> Another relative’s residence at Janani Vihar in Khandagiri, Bhubaneswar.
>> A rented residential house at Jarka in Jajpur
>> Jena’s office chamber at Jarka.
The searches are continuing, and further details are awaited.
