Rayagada: In a stern step, Odisha’s Rayagada district collector has stopped payment of salary to 30 employees working in Kasipur tehsil office for negligence of duty.
The collector, Swadha Dev Singh, had visited the tehsil office in an inspection on August 30. During the visit, she checked the files of different departments to verify the progress of welfare schemes of the state government.
During verification, Singh detected several anomalies in the official works including slow movement of the files, flawed maintenance of the document and delay in providing services to the people.
As a disciplinary step, the collector has issued an order cancelling the salary of 30 employees of the tehsil till further orders.
