Bhubaneswar: In order to prevent harassment of patients in the hospitals, the Odisha government has directed district collectors to take strict action against the brokers in the health facilities.
According to an official release, secretary, Health and Family Welfare department has instructed all district magistrates and collectors to strictly monitor the activities of the brokers in government hospitals.
The order has been issued in the light of complaints that the brokers divert the patients going to OPDs of government hospitals to private clinics and hospitals to get their commission.
The secretary said in the order that all collectors and district magistrates must step up vigilance activities in government health facilities with special attention to medical colleges and hospitals (MCHs). If any broker would be found in such nefarious activities, strict action must be initiated against him, he directed.
