Violent clash between two local groups claimed the life of Amaresh Nayak
Bhubaneswar: Two accused – Raghav Barik and Shankar Bastia – in the murder of a youth near Sundarpada here on Diwali night have been arrested.
According to sources, they were nabbed from the outskirts of the city and currently being interrogated at an undisclosed location.
More than 20 persons were allegedly involved in the brutal murder of one Amaresh Nayak, who was hacked to death following a dispute over bursting of crackers on Diwali.
On the fateful night, a group of people arrived at the spot where Amaresh and his friends were bursting crackers and arranging a feast and opposed it. This led to a heated argument. Soon after, the group attacked Amaresh with sharp weapons, leaving him critically injured.
He was then rushed to the Capital Hospital, where doctor declared him brought dead, the sources added.
