Bhubaneswar: With most state governments banning the bursting of firecrackers so as not to cause a spike in coronavirus cases, Diwali this year is set to be a subdued affair.
However, that doesn’t mean there won’t be ‘crackers’.
‘Linkheartz’, a chocolate venture by Odisha’s engineer-turned-entrepreneur Prachi Snigdha Sahu, aims to promote a safer version of Diwali with her ‘chocolate crackers’.
Prachi started Linkheartz a few months ago, as a hobby and passion, in the midst of the pandemic.
Initially, she sold the chocolates to friends and family members.
As lockdown restrictions were gradually eased, she spread the word and has already got corporate biggies as her clients.
Right now, the 28-year-old Prachi is selling customized Diwali special chocolates inspired by crackers. She hopes to curate special products for other festivals, too, like Christmas.
The founder of Linkheartz wants to employ more people as her business grows. “In the future, I want to generate jobs and provide employment at Linkheartz,” she says.
She also aims to sell Linkheartz products through e-commerce giants like Amazon and build a brand name.
A software engineer who is a National Institute of Science and Technology, Berhampur, alumni, this is Prachi’s first business venture.
