Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Monday appointed Prof Dhirendranath Maharana as the acting director of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR).
Prior to this new assignment, Maharana was the superintendent of the SCB Medical College and Hospital. Notably, the state government had appointed Prof Prakash Mahapatra as the in-charge director of VIMSAR on December 18 after outgoing director Prof Ashwini Pujahari went on indefinite leave following a directive of the Health and Family Welfare department the day before.
