Bhubaneswar: The DNA report on Tuesday cleared the confusion over identity of the third victim of air-conditioner gas cylinder explosion in Hi-Tech Hospital at Bhubaneswar.
Following the goof-up over identity of the victim in the explosion on December 29 last year, the hospital authorities and police had gone for DNA test. The sample of Dilip Samantary’s mother was sent to the State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL) in Bhubaneswar.
The DNA report, which was submitted to the police on the day, confirmed that it was the body of Dilip. The police have started the process to hand over the body to Dilip’s family, sources said.
Earlier in the day, the members of a students’ organisation hurled tomatoes at official residence of Health and Family Welfare Minister Niranjan Pujari in the city and held a demonstration, demanding immediate arrest of owner of Hi-Tech hospital Tirupati Panigrahy for the identity goof-up following death of three of the four technicians in the blast.
