Bhubaneswar: Two persons have been arrested for allegedly assaulting a doctor, nurses and security guard at a private hospital on Cuttack-Puri Road in Bhubaneswar, following the death of a patient.
The on-duty doctor was injured in the attack.
According the hospital sources, the condition of the patient, suffering from multiple organ dysfunction syndrome, was critical when he was brought to the facility. The doctors then referred to a multi-specialty hospital in the city, where he allegedly died during treatment.
Relatives of the patient returned to the health facility where he was admitted first on Tuesday afternoon and created a ruckus, attacking whosoever came in their way. The entire incident was captured in CCTV camera at the hospital.
On basis of a complaint, Badagada police registered a case and arrested the two persons on Wednesday. More arrests are likely, the sources added.
