Bhubaneswar: A doctor was transferred after a video of a security guard checking blood pressure of patients in his absence at Laikera Primary Health Centre in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district went viral recently.
The doctor identified as Tankeswar Budula was transferred to Remata Primary Health Centre in Lakhanpur block after a probe into the incident by a five-member team constituted by Jharsuguda Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) Dolamani Patel.
According to sources, the security guard attended to patients after 11 am. He would enter their names in the register, check their temperature, blood pressure and also prescribe medicines in the absence of doctors and pharmacists.
Patients alleged that they had raised the issue in the past but no action was taken then.
