Bhubaneswar: Prem Patnaik, elder brother of former Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik arrived in Bhubaneswar on Friday.
He is in the city to meet Naveen, who is recuperating after b
eing hospitalised for three days due to dehydration.
Later in the evening, the doctors briefed Prem regarding the ongoing treatment and the health condition of 78-year-old Naveen, who is the Leader of Opposition in the Odisha Assembly. In a video released by his office, Prem can be seen discussing with doctors in the presence of Naveen and his close aide V K Pandian at Naveen Nivas, the residence of the BJD chief.
The former CM was admitted to a private hospital in the city on August 11 evening.
Prem had also visited Naveen in Mumbai where he underwent a spine surgery for cervical arthritis in June. The BJD supremo had then returned to Odisha 21 days later.
Naveen, who is a bachelor, stays alone in Bhubaneswar while his elder brother and his family are residents of Delhi. Their sister Gita Mehta passed away in 2023.
