Cuttack: Doctors, nurses and paramedic staff at SCB Medical College and Hospital here were sent to a quarantine centre in the district after they came in contact with a COVID-19 patient on Thursday.
“They had come in contact with a new mother and her baby in the gynaecology and obstetrics department while treating them,” said Nodal Officer, Professor Dr. Manoranjan Pattanaik.

The department will soon be sanitised.
This is the second such case in Odisha. On May 13, a woman who had tested positive for COVID-19 after returning from Surat, delivered twins at the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.
According to sources, she was admitted to the special COVID-19 ward of the hospital after she complained of labour pain and gave birth to a baby boy and girl. The woman had returned to Ganjam with her husband from Surat recently. She was shifted to a COVID hospital after testing positive for the deadly virus.
