Bhubaneswar: The 92nd birth anniversary of renowned cardiologist, painter, and eminent cultural figure Dr Jadunath Prasad Das was celebrated with warmth and admiration through the release of a special documentary, “Hrudayara Manisha – Life and Works of Dr J P Das.”
The event was organised by Ketaki Foundation Trust at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Bhubaneswar, to celebrate his remarkable contributions to medicine and visual art.
The celebration began with a heartfelt welcome and moderation by Eminent Painter Ramahari Jena, setting the perfect tone for the evening. The ceremonial lamp was lit while Anindita Ray rendered a soulful version of the song “Jeevan Patra…”, symbolizing the light of knowledge and creativity that Dr. Das spread throughout his life.
The highlight of the event was the screening of the documentary, which beautifully captured his journey, achievements, and lasting impact on society. The audience was deeply moved by the portrayal of Dr. J.P. Das’s dedication to cardiology and his passion for painting, both of which defined his extraordinary life.
Adding to the evening’s charm, Gayatri Das, his wife, recited lines inspired by his artistic philosophy, bringing his thoughts to life with deep emotion. Dr Niranjan Tripathi shared an inspiring talk on Dr Das’s life and influence in the medical and cultural fields, while Karmadev Moharana offered heartfelt memories, recalling cherished moments spent with the iconic figure.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Debabrata Das, his son, who expressed sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed to making the event memorable. The evening ended on a warm note over high tea, where guests reflected on the timeless legacy of Dr. J.P. Das.
