Puri: Dola Utsav was celebrated in Jagannath temple here on the occasion of auspicious ‘Dola Purnima’ on Sunday.
As per the rituals, after Mangala Arati at 5.40 am, Abakasa and Surya Puja rituals were held. Then Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra were adorned with gold jewellery for the special Suna Besha and the devotees had their darshan.
After some special rituals were performed, the deities went from Ratna Sinhasan to Dola Bedi and played with colours.
Notably, Lord Jagannath is worshipped as Dola Govinda on the occasion of Dola Purnima.
