Domestic Violence: Woman Brutally Attacked, Branded With Hot Iron In Jajpur

Jajpur: In a shocking incident, a woman was allegedly brutally attacked by her husband and branded with a hot iron at Padmapur under Vyasanagar municipality in Jajpur.

The victim was identified as Jhuma Kajual.

Jhuma had tied the knot with Rabi Kajual of Sapa Gadia in Jajpur district, seven years ago. It was a love marriage. The couple has a daughter (5) and a son (3).

According to sources, the couple had a heated argument on Saturday, following which, Rabi closed the door of the house and started beating her up mercilessly. The children were playing outside at the time of the incident.

Later, the he branded her from head to toe with a hot iron rod.

Hearing her screams, the neighbours rushed to her aid and rescued her in a critical condition. They then admitted her to the Jajpur CHC.

She was later referred to the SCB Medical College and Hospital as her condition deteriorated.

The victim alleged that her husband was responsible for her condition and he too admitted to have inflicted injuries on her. However, no police complaint has been filed yet.
