Donald Trump’s First Wife Ivana Died Of ‘Blunt Impact Injuries’; What Happened?

New York: Ivana Trump, the first wife of former US president Donald Trump, died of “blunt impact injuries” to the torso in an accident, New York’s chief medical examiner said on Friday.

The circumstances of her death were not specified in the statement, but US media reported that police is investigating the possibility of the 73-year-old falling down the stairs at her Manhattan home.

AFP quoted a spokesperson for New York Police Department as saying that officers responded to a call at Ivana Trump’s address, and found her “unconscious and unresponsive” on reaching there.

She was pronounced dead on the spot.

“There does not appear to be any criminality,” the statement said.

Donald Trump, who announced her death on Thursday, described her as a “wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life.”

He further said her “pride and joy” were the couple’s three children — Donald Jr, Ivanka and Eric Trump.

Ivana, a model who grew up in former Czechoslovakia, married Donald – who was a budding real estate developer then — in 1977.

Their first child Donald Jr was born that year itself, followed by Ivanka in 1981 and Eric in 1984.

One of New York’s high-flying and high-profile couples, the Trumps split in early 1990s – reportedly caused partly by Donald’s affair with actress Marla Maples, whom the future President went on to marry in 1993.

Ivana, who was married four times — once before tying the knot with Donald and twice after – had a successful business career, developing clothing, jewellery and beauty products and writing a number of books.
