Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) chief Abhijeet Dipke has locked horns with a police sub-inspector (PSI) posted outside his residence here, accusing the officer of harassing visitors and trying to dictate who could enter his home, and has sought his immediate removal from the security team, PTI reported.
The row erupted at Dipke’s house in the Waluj MIDC belt, where police have been on duty for weeks as part of a security arrangement following alleged threats and to manage crowds gathering outside.
Dipke alleged that the PSI, deployed as part of this detail, was behaving “rudely” with people coming to meet him and was attempting to restrict and monitor those entering the premises.
Two videos of the confrontation — one showing Dipke speaking to the PSI at his home and another capturing his phone call with a senior police officer — spread rapidly on social media platforms on Friday. In the clips, the CJP founder can be heard sharply reprimanding the PSI and demanding that he be taken off the security roster.
‘You will not tell me whom I should meet’
In one of the viral videos, Dipke is seen addressing the PSI, who is in civilian dress, and questioning why he was stopping people from coming inside despite his own instructions to let them in.
“What is the problem in allowing people to come into my home when I am asking them to come in? Why are you behaving like the Delhi police? No problem has occurred till today. I am seeing you for the first time. You (police) will not tell me whom I should meet and whom I should not meet,” Dipke tells the officer.
He then orders the PSI to leave his house, saying: “You please go out, I don’t want you in my house.”
Dipke identified the officer only as “Suresh” and made it clear he did not want him as part of the security staff stationed at his residence.
In the second video, Dipke is heard lodging a complaint over the phone with a senior police official about the PSI’s conduct.
“A PSI named Suresh has come here, and he is very rude to people coming to meet me. He is telling people to go out. Is this being done deliberately? I don’t want him; remove him from here,” he says.
During the same call, Dipke raised fresh allegations about the presence of plainclothes CID personnel around his home.
“A reporter told me some CID people were spotted near my home. When police tried to remove them, they revealed they were from the CID. The reporter also saw that a WhatsApp group was open on the phone of one of the CID personnel and it was named ‘Hit Spray’. The reporter told me they were sending their reports from here,” he claimed.
Despite repeated attempts by reporters, DCP Pankaj Atulkar, under whose jurisdiction the Waluj MIDC area falls, was not available to respond to the allegations made by the CJP convenor.
