Bhubaneswar: Doordarshan Kendra, Bhubaneswar will live telecast Rath Yatra in Puri in four languages on July 7 and 8.
Doordarshan has made special arrangement with latest equipment for uninterrupted telecast of the car festival of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra on both days.
DD Odia will start telecasting the Rath Yatra from 9 am while DD Bharati will telecast in Hindi, English and Sanskrit from 10 am on July 7. The live-stream of the festival will also be available on YouTube channels of DD Odia and DD National from 9 am.
Since the pulling of chariots of the Lords will be held on two days during the Rath Yatra, the second day’s telecast will start at 8.30 am on July 8.
As official telecaster of Odisha government, the DD in cooperation with Information and Public Relations department will also telecast the special rituals of the deities. Those include Ada Mandap Bije on July 9, Bahuda Yatra on July 15, Sunabesha on July 16, Adharpana on July 17 and Niladribije on July 18, a release from I&PR department on Friday stated.
