Jharsuguda: New skeletons have come tumbling out of the cupboard in the double murder case of Kalpana Dash and her daughter Babli in which former Brajarajnagar MLA Anup Sai is the key accused.
According to police, Kalpana had wanted to file a case against a high profile person a few days before she was killed. She had even consulted a lawyer in Jharsuguda in this regard.
This was revealed by Raigarh SP Santosh Kumar Singh and the lawyer who was consulted by Kalpana to fight the case. They, however, didn’t divulge the name of the person.
The revelation came during a probe by the Raigarh police, who have painstakingly collected details about the crime but are facing challenge in proving them, the SP said.
He further said that Anup and his driver, who are in custody, were not cooperating with police during interrogation.
The SP also informed that police have collected several clues in the murder case and will call the persons concerned for questioning at an appropriate time.
According to investigators, Kalpana’s relationship with Sai grew after her separation from her husband. She was staying with Sai in a live-in relationship. Later, however, Kalpana insisted on Sai to accept her as his wife. This became the cause of regular bickering between them and the reason behind her and her daughter’s gruesome murders, police said.
