Double Murder In Odisha: 2 Women Hacked To Death In Jagatsinghpur

Jagatsinghpur: A man allegedly hacked two women to death with a sword at Expressway Colony in Kujang area of Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district on Sunday.

The accused was identified as Chintua Nath (35) and the deceased women were Anita Rout (42) and Nirmala Lenka (54).

As per preliminary reports, the man barged into the house of  Anita and attacked her with the sharp weapon this morning, killing her on the spot.

Hearing her scream, Nirmala was trying to come out of her house when the accused also attacked her. She was rescued in a critical condition and rushed to the Kujang Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

The accused was stated to be under the influence of some narcotic substance. The reason behind the attack is yet to be ascertained.

The accused has been detained at Kujang police station and further investigation in connection with the incident is on. The weapon of offence has been seized by the police and the bodies sent for post-mortem.
