Downward Trend In COVID Count; Only 2 Odisha Districts Report New Cases In Two-Digit

Bhubaneswar: A day after witnessing a marginal rise in daily COVID caseload, the number of people testing positive for the virus in Odisha dropped to 108 on Thursday.

The state had seen 128 new infections on Wednesday and 108 on Tuesday.

According to the I & PR department, 64 of the new cases reported in the last 24 hours are from quarantine and 44 local contacts. Among them, 30 are in the age group of 0-18 years. The new cases have been reported from 22 districts with the highest of 16 from Gajapati followed by 14 from Khurda. The other 20 districts have reported cases in a single digit.

16. Mayurbhanj: 1
17. Nabarangpur: 6
18. Nuapada: 1
19. Rayagada: 1
20. Sambalpur: 8
21. Sonepur: 1
22. Sundargarh: 9

Besides, 3 from the state pool.

With these cases being detected from 49,954 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.27 per cent. Odisha now has 1,047 active cases.
