Bhubaneswar: The downward trend in Odisha COVID cases continued on Friday with 15 more positives in the last 24 hours against 22 on Thursday, and 26 on Wednesday.
According to the I & PR department, nine of these new cases are from quarantine and six local contacts. There are no minors among them belonging to the 0-18 years age group.
Here is the district-wise tally of new cases:
1. Bargarh: 2
2. Balangir: 1
3. Cuttack: 3
4. Khurda: 2
5. Mayurbhanj: 1
6. Puri: 1
7. Sambalpur: 2
8. Sundargarh: 3
With these cases being detected from 7,942 samples, the test positivity rate stood at 0.19%. With 40 more recoveries in the last 24 hours, Odisha now has 208 active cases.
It is pertinent to mention here that three districts – Dhenkanal, Ganjam Rayagada, and Malkangiri – are reportedly COVID-free with nil active cases, as per the state COVID dashboard.
