Bhubaneswar: Dr Manoj Kumar Sahu, Head of Department of Gastroenterology, Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital here, has been elected as member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS).
Dr Saroj Chooramani Gopal, president of NAMS presented the certificate to him at the academy’s 60th convocation in New Delhi on Saturday. Dr Sahu was elected to the post in recognition of his contribution to the advancement of medical sciences.
“This is a great honour for me and I will endeavour to carry forward the responsibility and bring glory to Odisha in ensuring better patient care and prevention of diseases while involving the medical fraternity in research and innovation,” Prof Sahu said.
Dr VK Paul, member NITI Aayog and chairman, National COVID Task Force and Dr Nirmal Kumar Ganguli, former Director General of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) were present.
