Puri: Land-related issues regarding the Jagannath Temple were discussed at a meeting presided over by Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra here on Tuesday.
It has been decided to form a draft committee under the supervision of Law Department on matters related to land of Shree Jagannath Temple.
District Collector Samarth Verma and temple authorities were present at the meeting where issues like unauthorised constructions in prohibited sweet water zone of Puri was also discussed.
The Executive Officer of Puri Municipality, Saroj Kumar Swain, has been directed the to carry out survey work in accordance with the orders of Orissa High Court. Acting on a petition by one Uma Ballav Rath, the HC had directed for a survey of Srikshetra Colony, PKRIT Colony and other areas.
The Chief Secretary directed officials to take immediate steps for addressing the matters ensuring an early resolution.
