Cuttack: The Orissa High Court has issued notices to state and Central governments, CBI and NIA on DRDO espionage case.
The High Court issued the notices after accepting a petition filed by Cuttack-based lawyer Arun Kumar Budhia in this regard. The advocate had filed a PIL in the court in September seeking its direction to probe DRDO espionage case by a Central investigation agency.
The petitioner had stated that the Crime Branch, which is presently investigating into the case of international dimension, is not capable of revealing the truth and bringing the culprits to book. Hence the case should be probed by a national agency like CBI, NIA or SIT, he mentioned in the petition.
It may be noted that five employees of ITR of DRDO at Chadipur in Balasore district have been arrested in connection with the case. The investigation has revealed that a Dubai-based woman had honey-trapped them to pass on sensitive information about missile tests at ITR to Pakistan.
