Cuttack: The Commissionerate Police have begun the manhunt for a dreaded criminal, who escaped from the custody of Cuttack Sadar Police on Wednesday night.
According to sources, a special squad of police and the Sadar Police had arrested Juga Khan, a dreaded criminal, during a joint raid in Brahmanajharilo area in the district. He was later brought to Sadar police station.
During the interrogation, the accused suddenly pushed a constable and ran away. Following the incident, police raided several areas to nab him.
Till reports last came in, the accused was still at large.
Police said Khan had several cases of dacoity, extortion and murder pending against him at different police stations in Cuttack and other coastal districts.
