Dreaded criminal injured in police encounter at Cuttack

Cuttack: Dreaded criminal Sheikh Rahul was injured in an encounter with Puri Ghat police here on Tuesday.
A police team raided Bidanasi area following a tip-off. Spotting the cops, Rahul reportedly fired on them. The policemen retaliated and a bullet struck him in his right leg. He was admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
“Rahul, an associate of notorious criminal Shakil, was wanted in a number of cases including bombing and attempt to murder,” Cuttack DCP Akhileswar Singh said.
On August 15, another criminal identified as Raghunath Das was injured in an exchange of fire with police at CDA area under Markatnagar police limits in Cuttack.
