Bhubaneswar: Continuing its drive against touts, the joint enforcement squads of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) demolished several temporary sheds near the RTO II at Chandrasekharpur on Tuesday.
The demolition drive began around 9 am in presence of senior BMC and BDA officials and local magistrate. To ward off any untoward incident, one platoon of police force was deployed in the area.
The enforcement squads on Monday had demolished about 40 temporary sheds near the RTO at Saheed Nagar.
Notably, the Commerce and Transport minister Padmanabha Behera had directed his department to keep the brokers away from the RTO premises in the state.
Acting on the directive of the minister, Transport Commissioner Sanjeeb Kumar Panda had directed the Regional Transport Offices to take necessary actions.
