Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police on Tuesday arrested a youth for allegedly capturing obscene photos of a woman during a video call and sending those to another person.
The police took the action after the woman lodged a complaint at Airport police station here on Monday. The 23-year-old accused Atanu Priyadarshi Senapati, a resident of Mahatab Road under Lingaraj police limits, was the driver of the woman.
According to the police complaint, Atanu had made a video call with the woman and recorded obscene moments during the call. He sent the video to a friend of the woman’s husband and blackmailed her demanding money and sexual favour.
Acting on the FIR, the Airport police lodged a case and arrested the driver under Sections 292,292 A, 354 C, 385 and 506 of IPC and 66 E, 67, 67 A of IT Act and produced him before court on Tuesday.
