Sambalpur: Driver of a truck was charred to death after the vehicle overturned and caught fire on Rairakhol-Naktideul road near Terabeda village in Odisha’s Sambalpur district on Wednesday.
According to sources, the driver, whose identity is yet to be ascertained, got stuck in the vehicle and attempts by locals to rescue him also failed. Fire Services personnel soon reached the spot and doused the flames.
Meanwhile, police have recovered the charred body for post-mortem and initiated an investigation. The fire is being attributed to a possible electrical short circuit.
