Baleshwar: Driver of a truck was killed after the vegetable-laden vehicle reportedly collided with anoher vehicle on National Highway 16 in Odisha’s Baleshwar district early on Wednesday.
According to sources, the accident took place on the Chadakamara overbridge under the jurisdiction of Soro police station in the early hours.
The truck from West Benga was proceeding towards Bhadrak when it reportedly hit the other vehicle from behind. The front portion of the truck was completely damaged under the impact of the collision. The unidentified vehicle reportedly fled the spot following the accident.
According to reports, the truck driver died in the accident. Efforts are on to ascertain his identity.
After receiving the information, Soro police reached the spot and recovered the body, which was subsequently sent for post-mortem examination.
Police initiated an investigation to establish the circumstances leading to the collision and identify the vehicle involved.
