Sonepur: The driver of an oil tanker was killed while the helper sustained injuries after the vehicles caught fire on Sonepur-Sambalpur road on Wednesday.
The helper of the vehicle has been admitted to a hospital at Ulunda in Sonepur district.
According to available information, the tanker caught fire after it collided with a speeding truck.
On being alerted about the mishap, a team of fire service personnel rushed to the spot and managed to douse the flames after an hour long effort.
The tanker has been badly damaged in the incident.
Movement of vehicles was affected on the busy road owing to the accident.
