Driver Sethy Admits Purchase Of Sarua Land In His Name

Berhampur: Former driver of Ortel Communication, Rabindra Kumar Sethy has come out in the open on his role in controversial Sarua land scam.

According to Sethy, when he was working at Ortel Communication as a driver, the company officials asked him to buy Sarua land in his name since he belongs to Schedule Caste (SC) community. When he did not agree, they threatened to throw him out of his job and he conceded. Land worth Rs 20 lakh was purchased in his name from the SC people in Sarua, he added.

However, Sethy was never in possession of the land was as it was taken over by Odisha Infratech Ltd.

Sethy was working as the driver of a director of Odisha Infratech Pvt. Ltd. (OITL) with a salary of Rs 8,000 per month in 2010. He quit the job in 2017.
