”I was on the way to Balangir town on a pick-up van when the traffic constable Gautam Sahu, a resident of Sukapada, asked me to stop the vehicle in an inebriated state at about 9.30 PM. As soon as I got down, he thrashed me with his belt. Later, he went away from the area. The locals who were present at that time rushed me to the hospital,” Meher said in a complaint lodged with the Town Police Station.
